The Jimmie Hale Mission, a cornerstone of the Birmingham nonprofit community, is
actively seeking a capable and proven Director of Human Resources. This member of the
senior leadership team reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for
developing and executing HR strategies that align with and further the organization's goals, overseeing all HR operations, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies that support the
overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization.
- Talent Management: Lead talent acquisition efforts, including recruitment,
onboarding, and succession planning to ensure a strong workforce.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a key advisor on employee relations issues,
performance management, and conflict resolution.
- Training and Development: Execute comprehensive training programs and
professional development initiatives to enhance employee skills and career growth.
- Compensation and Benefits: Manage compensation structures, benefits
administration, and ensure competitive and equitable pay practices.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, maintaining up to-date personnel policies and practices.
- Workplace Culture: Foster a healthy workplace environment that promotes
respect, teamwork, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Budget Management: Develop and monitor the HR department budget, ensuring
efficient use of resources.
Qualifications
- Education: A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a
related field is typically required; a master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM SCP, SPHR) is preferred.
- Experience: Extensive experience in human resources management, with a proven
track record in a leadership role.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to manage
multiple priorities and work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Work Environment
- This position is based in our business office in Birmingham. Some travel is required
to our second campus in Birmingham and campus in Hayden, Alabama.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
