Tri Axle Dump Truck Driver

Drivers are responsible for the safe, proper and efficient completion of assigned duties and operation of the dump truck within company policy and DOT regulations. Travel is regional and drivers report to our Grand Rivers, KY facility each working day. Positions are seasonal, meaning our drivers work normally from April through mid-December. In order to qualify, applicants must have a Class A or B CDL and must be able to drive manual shift trucks and have a good Motor Vehicle Report. This is a safety sensitive position. Jim Smith Contracting is a drug free workplace and we have a zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate Tri-axle Dump Trucks to transport various materials (such as asphalt rock, sand, dirt, etc.) to designated locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in safe and proper working condition.
• Load and unload materials safely and effectively, following all company policies and DOT regulations.
• Communicate effectively with site managers and dispatch to coordinate schedules and delivery times.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations and company policies while driving.
• Identify and report any mechanical issues or safety hazards concerning the vehicle.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including wearing appropriate safety gear.

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Dependable and Punctual

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit for extended periods while driving.
• Climb in and out of truck
