Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and automotive diagnostics tools.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm machinery to ensure peak operational efficiency.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using hand tools, power tools, welding, soldering, and assembly techniques to meet specific job requirements.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs on industrial equipment and automotive systems.
- Replace or repair brake systems, alignments, tires, powertrain components, HVAC systems, and perform heavy lifting tasks safely.
- Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed; interpret schematics for accurate troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service requests while adhering to safety standards and quality procedures.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair in dealership or industrial settings.
- Hands-on fabrication experience with welding, soldering, and assembly of mechanical parts.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers.
- Strong knowledge of OEM parts catalogs and schematics for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Experience working with farm machinery or industrial equipment is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics tools and electrical system troubleshooting.
