The Catering Sales Representative is responsible for building and maintaining long-term relationships with catering clients by acting as the point of contact for all catering proposals and orders. The Catering Sales Representative ensures all orders are processed in a timely and professional manner, and works in conjunction with the Catering Sales Center Manager, Local Owners, Catering Operations Managers, Community Sales Managers, and General Managers of the restaurants to ensure clear and concise communication regarding all off-premise orders. The Catering Sales Representatives report directly to the Catering Sales Center Manager.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for answering phones, drafting proposals, and entering orders into Advanced Order system.
- Must be knowledgeable about all catering product, portioning, and procedures in order to offer guidance to guests on order placing and answer any potential questions guests may have regarding JNN catering services.
- Acts as the “tour guide” to the guest by walking them through their entire event from start to finish.

- Responsible for creation of all AO worksheets, Calendar Invites, and Daily Recaps to verify they all match one another and provide correct information to the restaurants.
- Maintains a high sense of urgency in the order taking process and in communicating orders to the restaurants.
- Ensures that all online catering requests received from the Catering Sales Center Manager are responded to within 24 hours.
- Exhibits a high attention to detail as it relates to administrative work.
- Responsible for communicating with the stores regarding Deposits, House Accounts, etc.
- Helps preserve the Jim ‘N Nick’s culture by displaying it in daily communication with guests and coworkers.
- Successfully communicates with guests regarding negative and positive feedback in order to gather information and relay the feedback from the catering clients to the Catering Call Center Manager
- Constantly maintains a “sales” mentality to grow off-premise sales.
- Upsells to the guest
- Identifies opportunities and “makes the ask” for future catering sales.
- Follows up with guests to ensure their experience was perfect.
Qualifications
- Education / Training / Work Experience
- One (1) to three (3) years of restaurant operations experience is preferred.
- Experience as a Jim ‘N Nick’s Caterer is strongly preferred.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the restaurant industry.
- Extremely proficient with a variety of computer software applications (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
- Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Must possess a “Sales” and “Sales Building” mentality
- Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
- Superior phone etiquette required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to problem solve, prioritize, manage multiple and changing timelines, and multi-task with limited supervision while meeting established timelines.
