JH Industrial Services, is seeking a Skilled Facilities Laborer to support preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and emergency repair operations at a local pharmaceutical company.
This role supports a highly regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing facility and requires a safety-first mindset, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to assist across multiple trades when needed.
All work is scheduled whenever possible, though flexibility is required to respond to urgent site needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative, break-fix, and emergency maintenance tasks
- Document findings, identify deficiencies, and report corrective actions in compliance with site standards
- Proactively assist other trades to support overall project progress
Maintenance & Operations
- Conduct inspection routes and minor equipment maintenance
- Perform filter changes, lubrication, duct/vent cleaning, and water heater flushes
- Perform routine building checks and minor repairs (lighting, doors, hardware, plumbing fixtures)
- Minor plumbing repairs (leaks, drain clogs, toilet component replacement)
- Carpentry tasks including drywall repair, shelving installation, furniture assembly/disassembly
- Painting touch-ups and minor wall/trim painting
- Assist with seasonal groundskeeping and debris removal
Site Support & Equipment
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment
- Utilize Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs) such as forklifts, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, and boom lifts
- Perform site preparation including debris removal and work area setup
- Dig trenches and assist with minor concrete work
- Load, unload, and transport materials
- Contact suppliers/manufacturers regarding parts, repairs, and shipping instructions
Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues using critical thinking and root cause analysis
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of multi-disciplined skilled labor or facilities maintenance experience
- Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders while maintaining customer satisfaction and site compliance standards
- Elite, customer-driven professional
- Valid State of Michigan driver’s license
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to:
- Work at heights and in confined spaces
- Bend, twist, kneel, and stand for extended periods
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Work in various weather conditions
- Work in extreme temperatures (above 90°F or below 32°F)
- Strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE requirements
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
