Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulic systems, HVAC/R units, and high-voltage electrical components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using schematics, precision measuring instruments such as ammeters and ohmmeters, and analysis skills to identify root causes swiftly.
- Conduct repairs involving welding (including
welding), low voltage and high voltage electrical systems, as well as hydraulic repairs to ensure optimal machine performance. - Operate industrial machinery such as scissor lifts for maintenance access while adhering to safety protocols.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document work orders, maintenance activities, parts inventory, and equipment history accurately.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings to facilitate precise repairs or modifications.
- Support field service activities by providing on-site technical assistance for equipment installation, troubleshooting, or upgrades at various locations.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize processes through technical insights and maintenance strategies that improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Engage in technical sales support by providing expert advice on equipment specifications or upgrades when interacting with customers or vendors.
- Maintain a safe working environment by following all safety regulations related to electrical work, machinery operation, and industrial maintenance practices.
- Assist in training team members on new procedures or equipment operation as needed to foster a knowledgeable workforce.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an industrial mechanic or electromechanical technician role within a manufacturing facility environment.
- Strong electrical experience with low voltage systems, high voltage systems, industrial electrician skills, including the use of ammeters and ohmmeters for diagnostics.
- Mechanical knowledge with expertise in hydraulics, HVAC/R systems, welding (including
welding), and the use of precision measuring instruments. - Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics interpretation, CMMS software, and analysis skills for troubleshooting complex machinery issues.
- Ability to operate field service equipment such as scissor lifts safely while adhering to all safety standards.
- Experience in industrial maintenance practices including preventive maintenance programs and emergency repairs.
- Knowledge of industrial safety protocols related to high voltage electrical work and low voltage control systems.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and effective teamwork; additional language skills are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze problems quickly and develop effective solutions under pressure.
- Military background or experience is considered an asset due to discipline-oriented approach to safety and procedures.
