Position Overview
The Account Manager & Office Administrator manages and grows an assigned book of business while supporting day-to-day office administration. This role serves as the primary client relationship owner, delivers responsive service, manages renewals and remarketing, maintains accurate account documentation, and supports efficient office operations.
This position supports agency growth by identifying coverage opportunities, generating referrals, supporting new business production, and proactively managing cancellations to protect agency revenue.
Success in this role requires strong customer service, relationship-building, sales, operational discipline, and office leadership. The position contributes directly to client satisfaction, retention, revenue growth, and efficient office operations.
Core Responsibilities
1. Client Relationship Management
· Serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned book of business.
· Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and consultative service.
· Respond to client inquiries, policy changes, billing questions, and coverage requests in a timely and professional manner.
· Deliver a high-quality client experience throughout the policy lifecycle.
2. Retention & Renewal Management
· Manage policy renewals and conduct proactive outreach to support client retention.
· Maintain retention for the assigned book of business at or above 90%.
· Identify coverage gaps, account-rounding opportunities, and retention risks.
· Address cancellation concerns and coordinate remarketing efforts when appropriate.
· Support achievement of agency retention and client satisfaction goals.
3. Sales & Growth
· Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts through cross-selling and upselling.
· Write at least 15 policies per month as part of the agency growth initiative.
· Generate referrals and support new business opportunities.
· Contribute to agency revenue growth through proactive account development.
4. Account Administration & Compliance
· Maintain accurate and complete client records within agency management systems.
· Review policies for accuracy and ensure all required documentation is obtained and retained.
· Coordinate underwriting requests, inspections, and carrier communications as needed.
· Adhere to agency procedures, carrier requirements, and regulatory compliance standards.
· Process incoming mail by scanning documents and uploading them to EZLynx according to agency procedures.
· Process commission checks by scanning checks with the check scanner and depositing funds into the appropriate bank accounts.
5. Office Administration & Office Lead Responsibilities
· Serve as the office lead and first point of contact for day-to-day office questions, process guidance, and training needs.
· Provide support and informal training to the additional office employee on agency systems, procedures, and client-service workflows.
· Serve as the point person for the office rental space, coordinating space-related needs and helping ensure the office remains organized and functional.
· Support general office workflow by helping identify process gaps, escalating issues when needed, and maintaining a professional and efficient office environment.
Experience & Qualifications
Required
2 years of experience in personal insurance sales, account management, customer service.
Active Utah Property & Casualty insurance license.
Familiar with Utah carrier markets.
Experience servicing and managing an insurance book of business.
Strong understanding of personal lines insurance products, coverages, and carrier underwriting guidelines.
Proven ability to build client relationships and deliver exceptional customer service.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with agency management systems, carrier portals, and standard business software.
Preferred
3–5 years of personal lines account management experience, in an independent insurance agency.
Office Administration experience.
Experience with renewals, remarketing, retention initiatives, and account rounding.
Demonstrated success identifying cross-sell, upsell, or referral opportunities.
Experience working in an independent agency environment.
Familiarity with EZLynx or similar agency management systems.
Pay: $60,000.00 per year
