Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced slinger truck driver to join our team. The ideal candidate must meet all applicable DOT/CDL requirements and possess the additional skills needed to safely operate the slinger conveyor system and place aggregate materials accurately on construction sites.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL (Class A preferred)
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate
- Clean driving record with no major moving violations
- Ability to pass DOT drug and alcohol testing
- Ability to safely operate a stone slinger conveyor system
- Minimum age of 21
- High school diploma or GED
Experience
- 2 years of commercial driving experience
- Experience with: Stone Slinger Trucks, Dump Trucks and Construction site driving
- Knowledge of construction materials such as: Gravel, Sand and Limestone
Required Skills
- Operate a slinger conveyor safely and efficiently
- Perform accurate material placement
- Communicate effectively with contractors and equipment operators
- Maneuver large trucks in confined residential and commercial contruction sites
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Secure loads in accordance with DOT regulations
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of the conveyor system
Physical Requirements
- Climbing on and off the truck multiple times per day
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks associated with construction work
- Working on uneven terrain
- Standing for extended periods while operating the slinger remote
