JF Restaurants is seeking passionate and experienced Pizza Cooks to join our esteemed culinary team at Hamlin House. This is a unique opportunity to grow within an award-winning restaurant group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook pizzas in a brick oven to order.
- Stretch and shape dough by hand to ensure consistency and quality.
- Apply toppings, sauces, and cheese according to menu specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep and cooking area.
- Monitor oven temperature and cooking times to ensure pizzas are cooked to perfection.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Pay attention to the quality and appearance of prepared ingredients.
- Report any issues or concerns regarding ingredient quality to the chef.
- Prioritize tasks based on the kitchen's needs and service schedule.
- Communicate effectively with Management regarding product quality and inventory levels.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and purpose in all tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment throughout the shift in accordance with Health Department and restaurant standards.
- Ensure all the products and prepared items are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated following FIFO (first in, first out)
Qualifications:
- 2 years of kitchen experience making pizza in a stone oven preferred.
- Knowledge of dough preparation, pizza assembly, and cooking techniques.
- Open availability
- Strong knowledge of food handling, culinary skills and cooking techniques
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence
- Ability to multitask while maintaining quality standards of the restaurant
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
