Experienced Window & Door Installer / Remodeling Carpenter

JF Handyman & Remodeling LLC is seeking an experienced Window & Door Installer / Remodeling Carpenter to join our growing crew.

This is a full-time W-2 position with weekly pay. The employee will primarily support residential window and door installation projects, but this is not an exclusively window-and-door installation position.

JF Handyman & Remodeling LLC also performs residential renovation, remodeling, carpentry, and related home-improvement work. Employees may be assigned to different types of projects based on the company’s workload and project schedule.

We are looking for a dependable, skilled individual with hands-on carpentry, remodeling, or window and door installation experience who takes pride in quality workmanship and works well as part of a crew.

Compensation

$28.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience and skill level

Responsibilities

• Remove existing windows and doors
• Install replacement windows and interior/exterior doors
• Measure, level, square, shim, and properly fasten units
• Install interior and exterior trim, casing, molding, and finish materials
• Perform flashing, insulation, weatherproofing, and caulking
• Complete minor framing and carpentry modifications as needed
• Perform exterior trim and aluminum capping
• Operate an aluminum brake when required
• Perform finish and rough carpentry
• Participate in residential remodeling and renovation projects
• Assist with demolition, preparation, installation, repairs, and project closeout
• Load and unload windows, doors, tools, equipment, and materials
• Protect customer homes and maintain clean work areas
• Perform jobsite cleanup and debris removal
• Follow manufacturer installation requirements and company quality standards
• Follow company and jobsite safety procedures
• Work closely with the Lead Installer and other crew members
• Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers
• Perform other construction and remodeling duties consistent with the employee’s skills and experience

Qualifications

• Prior experience in carpentry, remodeling, window/door installation, or a related construction trade
• Ability to safely operate common hand and power tools
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure
• Basic understanding of residential framing and construction
• Ability to follow measurements, layouts, and installation instructions
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable transportation
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to travel to project locations throughout Connecticut and Westchester County, New York
• Professional appearance and customer-service attitude
• Ability to work effectively as part of a crew

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to approximately 75 lbs
• Ability to safely participate in team lifting of heavier windows, doors, and materials
• Ability to climb and work from ladders
• Ability to bend, kneel, squat, reach, and stand for extended periods
• Ability to safely handle tools, equipment, and construction materials throughout the workday
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following is preferred:

• Replacement window installation
• Exterior and interior door installation
• Residential remodeling
• Finish carpentry
• Rough carpentry
• Trim and molding
• Aluminum brake operation
• Exterior window and door capping
• Flashing and weatherproofing
• Framing
• Exterior siding or trim repairs

Schedule

Primarily Monday through Friday, with additional hours depending on project workload and scheduling.

Work Location

Multiple project locations throughout Connecticut and Westchester County, New York.
