Essential Duties And Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Maintain campus surveillance.
- Issue citations for traffic and parking violations; direct incoming and outgoing traffic.
- Monitor severe weather, check for leaks, fires, and safety hazards, and check fire extinguishers.
- Lock all rooms containing equipment; secure all interior and exterior doors of buildings; unlock buildings.
- Investigate accidents and thefts; complete and file appropriate reports.
- Assist state and local law enforcement agencies.
- Assist students, faculty, and visitors with vehicular problems; assist visitors with locating buildings.
- Answer telephone, monitor radio, and deliver messages.
- May be required to make mail deliveries and/or deliver bank deposits.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of campus procedures, rules, and guidelines.
- Knowledge of State and Local laws.
- Knowledge of driving rules.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Able to make mathematical computations and tabulations accurately and with reasonable speed.
- Able to drive a motorized vehicle.
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, other employees, and the public.
- Six credit hours in Criminal Justicefrom a regionally accredited college or university.
- Prior experience as a Security Officer.
