Job Summary
Jewish Service for The Developmentally Disabled (JSDD) is the lead, multi-purpose agency dedicated to providing an integrated program of community education, advocacy and services for individuals with developmental disabilities. We are currently seeking to hire an Assistant Residence Manager for our group homes.T Locations can be either in Essex or Morris County. The position is Full Time, 40 hours a week. Flexibility with shifts is required for this position.
Responsibilities and Duties --
- Assist with supervising the daily operations of the residents, including all household, staff and resident related matters
- Participate in the orientation, training and ongoing supervision of direct care staff
- Monitor all administrative systems - i.e. communication and logbooks, daily training records, fire drill records, menus, client files, etc.
- Assure accuracy and compliance with medication administration procedures by all staff assigned to work in the home. Check MAR sheets daily.
- Monitor the physical upkeep of the residence
- Promote community inclusion and person-centered philosophies
- Maintain positive relationships with families of residents
- Assist in coordinating and scheduling social events that emphasize community inclusion
- Participate in the IHP process for each resident and is knowledgeable of all goals
- Document household and resident expenditures
- Cooperate with any JSDD and Division of Developmental Disabilities inspections or investigations
- Other duties as delegated
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent, BA preferred
- At least two years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting
- Valid NJ driver’s license
- Some relevant supervisory experience and or leadership experience
- Excellent written and communication skills
