We have Personal Care Attendant opportunities at our beautiful West Bloomfield campus.
- Part time opportunities for 1st and 2nd shift
- Starting pay is $17.50 per hour
A Personal Care Attendant provides direct personal care for our assisted living and memory care residents. Responsible for guiding or assisting residents with activities of life that they are unable to perform without guidance.
DUTIES:
- Participate in shift reports
- Assist with baths, full baths in and out of the tub
- Apply lotions/powders
- Assist with dressing/undressing, buttoning of clothing, tying shoes, combing hair, brushing teeth, putting in dentures and hearing aides, putting on jewelry etc. and any other ADL’s as needed
- Shave male residents
- Make beds
- Help prepare rooms for admission
- Welcome new residents-orient to room, call lights, etc.
- Wash and dry resident’s laundry
- Administer treatments to residents, i.e. lotions, nasal sprays, eye drops, inhalers etc.
- Answer call light promptly
- Assist with incontinence care – clothing, linen changes etc. Clean any accidents
- Assist in all emergencies
- Report any incidents or accidents to supervisor and complete Incident & Accident form.
- Make wake up calls
- Assist any resident who becomes ill or needs assistance to room, assistance with lost items, i.e. misplaced walkers, glasses, hearing aides etc.
- Observe resident changes: mental status, mobility, falls, skin, incontinence, eating habits, complaints of pain or illness, and report to supervisor.
Required experience:
- Personal care experience: 1 years providing direct care
Required education :
- High school or equivalent
