Job Description
We are seeking a responsible warm and dedicated Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our small Jewish preschool community for the 2026–2027 school year.
Our program provides a nurturing environment where young children can explore, learn, and grow through play-based learning infused with Jewish values and traditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement preschool policies, schedules, procedures, and curriculum
- Maintain a warm, safe, and engaging classroom environment
- Plan and implement age-appropriate, play-based learning activitie
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a strong team environment
- Follow all health, safety, and licensing requirements
Qualifications
- Experience working with young children in an early childhood setting
- Strong understanding of child development and best practices in early education
- Up-to-date trainings and active ORO account preferred
- Warm, patient, and nurturing personality
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Genuine love and respect for children
Position Details
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:45 AM – 1:00 PM
Location: Portland, OR 97211 — In person
Gan Yeladim is a Jewish preschool. Applicants do not need to be Jewish to apply. Jewish instruction is provided by the Program Manager.
