Position Overview:

The Business Manager serves as a key liaison across IT, Marketing, Fundraising, and Operations—driving clear intake, prioritization, communication, and follow-through from concept to launch. This position requires strong project management, sound business judgment, and the ability to coordinate internal teams and external partners to deliver measurable outcomes. This role reports to the Executive Director, Information Technology and is based in the Rockville Centre, NY office.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end project delivery for IT and digital initiatives—from request intake and scoping through launch and post-launch follow-up
  • Build and maintain project plans, timelines, priorities, and dependencies aligned with organizational goals and available capacity
  • Maintain overall accountability for scope, schedule, risks, decisions, and deliverables; escalate issues and drive timely resolution
  • Establish and improve repeatable processes for intake, prioritization, approvals, documentation, and change management
  • Coordinate day-to-day web and digital workstreams, aligning internal teams and external partners around milestones and deliverables
  • Convert stakeholder needs into clear requirements, acceptance criteria, and launch readiness checklists
  • Oversee ongoing improvements and operational support for digital platforms, ensuring items are prioritized, tracked, and completed
  • Partner with Marketing and cross-functional teams to plan and execute campaigns and initiatives with clear timelines, roles, and handoffs
  • Lead regular check-ins, prioritization discussions, and roadmap planning; document decisions and next steps
  • Set expectations and communicate timelines, priorities, tradeoffs, and resource constraints to stakeholders
  • Provide executive-level updates and reporting, including status, risks, budget considerations (as applicable), and upcoming milestones
  • Support IT governance and vendor management, including coordination of statements of work, deliverables review, and performance follow-up

Qualifications:

Required

  • 5 years of experience in project management or digital project leadership
  • Experience managing web development projects with technical and marketing teams
  • Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • Experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
  • Familiarity with digital workflows and operational considerations such as accessibility, privacy, and compliance
  • Experience working with external vendors or agencies
  • Experience with structured project delivery approaches (e.g., Agile, hybrid) and practical application of reporting and continuous improvement
