COMPENSATION:       $80,000 - $85,000


PRINCIPAL FUNCTION

The Director of Corporate and Professional Giving is responsible for advancing the Federation’s overall philanthropic goals by leading professional society and corporate giving strategies. This role focuses on cultivating, stewarding, and expanding relationships with professional and corporate donors, deepening their engagement with the Federation’s mission, and increasing both participation and financial impact. Through strategic donor relationship management, the Director helps position the Federation as a meaningful philanthropic partner and communal leader.


Working collaboratively across the Advancement team and the broader organization, the Director serves as a strategic partner to volunteer leaders and senior staff to drive coordinated fundraising efforts. The role also provides leadership in donor engagement programming; business & professional societies, phone-a-thons, campaign-related events, and relationship building initiatives that strengthen long-term donor & sponsor commitment. Through thoughtful collaboration, strong community presence, and effective partnership with lay leadership, the Director supports a cohesive, donor/sponsor-centered advancement strategy aligned with organizational priorities.


REPORTS TO: Sr. Director of Advancement

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Stewardship/Cultivation of Donors and Sponsors

·      Manage a core portfolio of professional donors in the professional societies

·      Develop a fundraising and stewardship strategy for an assigned portfolio of donors and assist in the overall campaign strategy with other directors.

·      Build relationships with current donors/sponsors as well as cultivate new relationships.

·      Identify and meet with potential donors to increase involvement and support for the Annual Campaign and other fundraising initiatives.

·      Identify natural partners, develop relationships, and steward gift development both independently and in partnership with the campaign team and other Federation departments.


·      Develop and implement appropriate fundraising strategies to increase the Annual Campaign and total philanthropy employing a variety of fundraising techniques that include face-to-face solicitations, fundraising events, calling sessions, and written communications.

·      Work closely with Supervisor to continue building a robust corporate giving program that increases the number of corporate partners and amount of corporate dollars received

·      Steward corporate partners in similar fashion to the professional donor base through face-to-face outreach, events and other fundraising activities.

·      Support Federation’s fundraising by accurately and successfully completing assignments according to defined

timelines, cooperating with co-workers and volunteers to achieve fundraising goals.

  Volunteer Management

·      Serve as the primary professional partner to the various volunteer leaders in committees in the professional and corporate space.

·      Work with Supervisor and advise on their solicitations and stewardship.

·      Manage solicitation processes including recruitment and follow-up with team leaders and team members; prospect selection; creation and maintenance of various solicitation lists and training tools; personal solicitation; and follow-up with donor issues.


Programs and Events

·      Oversee business & professional society including leadership enlistment and management, attendee recruitment, and follow-up to ensure donor involvement in Federation.

·      Oversee the organization of and recruitment for outreach/appreciation events to increase involvement in Federation and the greater Dallas community.

Other

·      Always promote the mission of Federation through superior customer service to all and through the efficient use and care of resources.

·      Other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree is required. Master's in Jewish education, social work or related field, preferred.          

Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of professional experience working in community building, client services, events and programming, sales and/or relationship management is preferred. Experience in nonprofit leadership, Jewish experiential education or other areas of Jewish communal service is a plus. Knowledge of Jewish customs and traditions is required.

  • Ability to travel and work in off-site settings on a regular basis. Ability to work evenings, weekends, or irregular hours as necessary to interact with donors and prospects and attend relevant meetings and events.
  • An outgoing personality and willingness to reach out to others individually by phone, mail, email and in public presentations. 
  • Experience developing, nurturing, and executing programs. 
  • Be self-motivated, curious, and innovative. 
  • Community organizing experience.  
  • In possession or capable of rapidly developing strong knowledge of the Dallas and/or broader Texas Jewish community   
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, products, and CRM system/database. 
  • Ability to foster and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with professionals and lay leaders outside of the Federation. 
  • Ability to organize, monitor, and track numerous ongoing and one-time activities, events, and projects with limited supervision. 
  • Ability to handle stress. 

 


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This position provides a competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefits package. Anticipated salary near midpoint; commensurate with experience. Benefits include a 3% 403b match, hybrid work schedule, health plan, paid family leave, JCC membership, among others.
