About the Position:
The Assistant Vice President of Annual Giving is a senior leader within the Campaign department, responsible for driving the growth and evolution of the Federation’s mid-level donor base ($1,000–$9,999), a critical engine for long-term philanthropic growth and future Major Gifts pipeline.
This role blends strategy and execution. In partnership with the Vice President of the Annual Campaign, you will develop and implement community-based fundraising strategies across Broward County, deepen donor relationships, and drive measurable increases in retention, engagement, and giving.
You will oversee a team of campaign professionals, manage a portfolio of donors, and create meaningful pathways that connect individuals to the Federation and inspire increased philanthropic investment.
What You Will Be Doing:
Grow Mid-Level Giving ($1,000–$9,999)
- In partnership with the Vice President of the Annual Campaign, develop and execute strategies to increase retention, acquisition, and upgrades within the mid-level segment
- Manage a portfolio of mid-level donors, leading cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
- Identify opportunities to deepen relationships and grow giving over time
- Introduce donors to broader Federation pathways
- Build a strong pipeline that advances donors into leadership and Major Gifts levels
- Track and drive key performance indicators, including retention, gift growth, and overall participation
Donor Acquisition
- Design and implement targeted strategies to expand the donor base through both geographic and affinity-driven outreach
- Identify and engage new prospects by activating volunteers, networks, and community touchpoints
- Develop scalable pathways that convert engagement into first-time and increased giving, driving measurable growth in donor participation
Lead Team
- Supervise and mentor director-level staff responsible for leading divisional and campaign initiatives
- Maintain a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance
- Ensure strong execution of moves management, prospect strategy, and donor tracking systems
- Align team efforts around clear goals, priorities, and measurable outcomes
Drive Key Campaign Events
- Serve as the professional lead for Ultimate Nite Out
- Ensure events are strategically leveraged for donor acquisition, engagement, and upgrades
- Partner with lay leaders and internal teams to align events with broader campaign strategy
What You Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5–7 years of progressive nonprofit fundraising experience, including direct solicitation, donor portfolio management, and team leadership
- Authentic connection to the Jewish community, including familiarity with Jewish lifecycle and calendar
- Demonstrated success driving measurable results in annual campaigns and/or major gift programs
- Strong strategic thinker with the ability to execute and achieve outcomes
- Excellent relationship-building, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Experience engaging volunteers, lay leaders, and community stakeholders
- Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Data-driven, with experience tracking performance metrics and using insights to inform strategy
Annual Salary Range: $135,000 - $145,000
