What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resource Family Coordinator-Family Worker position at Jewish Family Services of Harrisburg?
Qualifications: Master's degree in social work or other related human service with two years’ experience in child welfare or mental health field, or bachelor's degree in human services with five years of child welfare experiences. Computer skills including Word and Excel. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have own transportation and valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities:
1. Represent the JFS Adoption and Foster Care program to the community through engaging, warm, strengths-based, trauma informed work. Assist in recruitment of Resource Families for foster-adopt program, including speaking to interested parties by phone, community groups, or face to face individual contact, within the agency service area. Increase the number of families participating in training and home study process, specifically those willing to adopt an older or special needs child.
2. Complete family profiles and/or foster care home study for all appropriate families who compete training, including documentation, interviews, and ability assessment, as well as collection of all state required documentation for approval. This includes 60-day kinship/Emergency Care Giver studies and foster care and adoption studies for ICPC . Write all family profiles and/or foster care home studies as assigned.
3. Work with each approved family to identify matches, including contact with other affiliate and county agencies, attendance at all agency interviews with adoptive family, attendance at first visit between child and family.
4. Complete SWAN Finalization and Placement units of service when doing so would provide the best service to a resource family.
5. Collaborate with the Resource Family Coordinator assigned to supervise placement regarding child and family needs, transition planning, and program coverage during weekend and holiday coverage.
6. Support current and prospective resource families by providing in person and/or virtual training that meets the needs of individual families and the youth they serve.
7. Participate in meetings and activities to develop, support, and promote adoption and foster care through JFS.
The Resource Family Coordinator reports to the Adoption & Foster Care Team Lead.

· Must be able to work within a team and collaborate with others
· Flexible schedule to meet the needs of the family and does require frequent evenings
· Must be willing to be on-call for emergency crisis situations during weekends and holidays on a rotating basis
· Reliable transportation is required
· Travel to foster homes in the region is required.

Pay: $47,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
