We are currently seeking a Director of Domestic Violence (Project DVORA) and Financial Assistance Services for our Project DVORA (Domestic Violence Outreach Response and Advocacy) & Financial Assistance Services team. The Director of Project DVORA and Financial Assistance Services advances JFS’s commitment to helping individuals and families achieve stability and well-being by overseeing community-based domestic violence (specifically intimate partner violence) advocacy services and financial assistance services to households experiencing financial instability.
The Director brings strong program and people management expertise, a data-informed and systems-oriented mindset, a trauma-informed and culturally competent approach, and a deep understanding of the unique needs, strengths, and lived experiences of DV survivors and households experiencing economic instability.
This full-time position is currently hybrid, and staff must have the ability to commute to our Capitol Hill Campus in Seattle. Staff are also expected to meet community members in person when needs arise, either at our Capitol Hill Campus or in the community. On occasion, weekend or evening work may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership and Program Vision
- Directs the overall program development and management of activities within the Project DVORA and Financial Assistance Services teams.
- Serves as JFS’s principal authority on domestic violence, staying current on developments within the field and guiding organizational participation to influence policy and establish JFS as a recognized expert at the local and state levels.
- Integrates financial wellness principles and service models into financial assistance services supporting stability and basic needs service provision.
Program Oversight
- Provides support for direct service tasks, including directly serving clients at times as needed (i.e., if there is extra coverage needed for staff)
- Provides direct supervision of Project DVORA team and Financial Assistance team
- Creates, updates, and maintains staff protocols and procedures.
- Addresses client grievances and complaints in a trauma-informed manner.
- Reviews and approves all financial assistance requests for both teams.
- Oversees compliance with all relevant grant requirements, contracts, and regulatory obligations.
- Develops and manages annual program budgets; monitors expenses and supports resource allocation decisions in partnership with finance and development teams.
- Serves as an internal subject-matter expert on domestic violence interventions and prevention strategies
- Identifies new grant opportunities, as available and applicable.
Team Leadership
- Coordinates and facilitates regular team meetings and individual supervision for Project DVORA and the Financial Assistance Services teams.
- Fosters a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable team culture that empowers staff to grow in their duties and skills.
- Identifies and implements ongoing staff trainings and workshops, ensuring staff meet training requirements as defined in the Washington Administrative Code (WAC 388-61A-0350).
- Ensures strong supervision, performance management, professional development, and succession planning.
- Consults and collaborates with staff in other JFS departments as needed.
Data, Evaluation, and Continuous Improvement
- Oversees the development and use of program evaluation frameworks, performance metrics, and reporting systems.
- Analyzes program data to inform strategic planning, funding decisions, partnership development, and advocacy efforts.
- Supports grant reporting, outcome measurement, and storytelling to demonstrate impact to funders and stakeholders.
Partnerships and External Engagement
- Engages in and maintains community-based relationships with external service providers performing similar work, with local coalitions relevant to Project DVORA (e.g., WA State Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Coalition Ending Gender Based Violence), as well Jewish community partners, funders, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Provides information, support, training and consultation to friends, family, Jewish community members and professionals trying to support survivors.
- Supports the DV Outreach & Prevention Coordinator in creating and implementing domestic violence educational and outreach programs for Jewish organizations, synagogues, professionals, schools, and the community at-large.
- Builds and sustains strategic partnerships with community agencies, Jewish community-based organizations, and funders to expand reach and strengthen impact.
- Serves as a key external representative for JFS DV and financial assistance programs at local, regional, and national meetings.
- Engages regularly with existing and prospective partners through relationship-building, site visits, and collaborative planning.
Other Duties as Assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Expertise in domestic violence intervention and prevention practices required.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in domestic violence services required.
- Prior program leadership experience, including case management supervision, strategic analysis, and/or planning strongly preferred.
- Prior experience as a domestic violence advocate preferred.
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams preferred.
- Past training / experience in trauma-informed services and models of services specific to housing/financial stability and basic needs service provision.
- Sensitivity and understanding of challenges specifically impacting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
- Cultural competency (or willingness to be trained) in working with Jewish clients.
- Prior experience in managing programmatic budgets and city or federal government grants.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong project management abilities to track multiple deliverables.
- Demonstrated analytic, data-driven, and strategic problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with volunteers, donors and community partners.
- Experience with database usage; knowledge of Salesforce is a plus.
- Experience developing rapport with individuals of diverse socioeconomic, cultural backgrounds and those experiencing behavioral health challenges.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, Outlook, Salesforce, Adobe PDF, and PowerPoint required.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
The pay for this position is $82,909 - $101,333 annually.
