What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Protection-Certified Cook position at Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island?
JCCGCI Inc. is looking to hire a Cook for our Center. The Cook is responsible for food preparation, cooking, service, supervising kitchen staff, and adhering to sanitation standards.
Responsibilities:
- Menu planning; submitting orders and properly storing food.
- Coordinate food preparation, meal service, and clean-up.
- Safety: ensure that food is at a proper temperature, and maintain a clean environment.
- Taking inventory and keeping record of food usage.
- Attend required trainings and complete required courses.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Cook.
- Valid Food Protection Certificate
- Ability to stand for long hours
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Willing to work early morning hours
- Can read, write, and speak in English
