Are you energetic, organized, and passionate about working with children? Join the Almost Home team as a Program Assistant and play a key role in creating a safe, fun, and welcoming afterschool experience for elementary-aged students.
Every afternoon is different! You'll help welcome children as they arrive, supervise transitions between activities, support daily operations, and ensure our program runs safely and smoothly.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday | 2:00–6:00 PM
- Follows the Tarrytown & Irvington school calendars
- Approximately 180 days per school year
- Paid orientation, required training, and scheduled early dismissal days
What You'll Do
- Welcome children as they arrive from school buses.
- Supervise safe transitions between activities.
- Escort children throughout the building as needed.
- Assist with curbside dismissal and safe pick-up procedures.
- Prepare and distribute snack.
- Stock supplies and help keep program spaces organized.
- Support special events and daily program operations.
- Provide active supervision while creating a positive, inclusive environment for all children.
