THE OPPORTUNITY
In this role, you will help ensure that our facility remains clean, safe, and welcoming for all members, guests, and staff. Responsibilities include performing routine cleaning, sanitizing high-traffic areas, maintaining restrooms and common spaces, and supporting the overall upkeep of the building.
HOW I WILL CONTRIBUTE
- Clean locker rooms, shower stalls, and washrooms daily to maintain sanitation and safety standards.
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, wax, and polish various floor surfaces using industrial cleaning equipment, including scrubbing and buffing machines.
- Operate mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuums, polishers, and buffers.
- Wash interior and exterior windows according to the established schedule.
- Strip and recoat all floor areas as needed and in accordance with scheduled maintenance.
- Use ladders to clean walls, ceilings, vents, ceiling fans, and high or hard-to-reach areas.
- Clean bathrooms, sink areas, offices, classrooms, common areas, and all other assigned spaces.
- Dust all surfaces, including furniture, fixtures, equipment, and windowsills.
- Move furniture and equipment to ensure thorough cleaning of all areas.
- Remove stains from rugs, walls, floors, and other surfaces using appropriate cleaning chemicals and solutions.
- Empty trash containers daily and ensure proper disposal of waste.
- Safely handle and store various cleaning solvents, chemicals, and supplies in compliance with safety protocols.
- Plan and organize work schedules for major cleaning tasks.
- Perform seasonal tasks such as sweeping exterior walkways or removing snow as needed.
- Report any maintenance or repair needs immediately to the supervisor.
- Communicate effectively with staff, members, and other facility personnel.
- Performs all duties as assigned.
- Union position and Uniforms will be provided.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Regularly stands, extensive walking, using hands and fingers, repetitive motion, carries, reaches, pulls, climbs, balances and lifts and/or moves up to 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
