What are the responsibilities and job description for the JCC Sailfish swim team Assistant Swim Coach position at Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh?
The JCC Sailfish Swim Team is a coach governed USA Swimming program that is part of Allegheny Mountain Swimming. Our team is a year-round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching for all ages and abilities.
Job Responsibilities
- Works closely with the Head Coach to support and promote the philosophy and training plan for participation and competition of all swimmers in assigned groups. (Ages 12-18)
- Communicates effectively with parents, swimmers, and other coaches (email, phone, face to face).
- Coordinates online meet entries (Team Unify).
- Attends all scheduled swim meets, meetings, and team functions as required.
- Assists Head Coach with planning seasonal practices, team events and meet schedules.
- Works flexible hours including morning/nights and weekends and attending swim meets (in/out of town)
- Ability to travel to all practice facilities (JCC Squirrel Hill, JCC South Hills, Allderdice HS, Henry Kaufmann pool in Monroeville PA)

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
While performing the above duties, this position routinely requires handling persons and/or objects and moving safely throughout the building. This position may include walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. This position requires communicating, either verbally or in writing. This position frequently requires moving items weighing up to 25 pounds. This position occasionally requires moving items weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to complete all essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 3 years successful experience as an Age Group Coach or Head/Lead Age Group Coach. Familiarity with Team Unify and Competitive Swimming experience preferred.

PA Child Abuse Clearance
FBI Clearance
PA Mandated Reporter Training
First Aid/CPR Certification
All USA Swimming certification and coaching requirements (CPR, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, USA Swimming Background Check, Athlete Protection, Lifeguard, First Aid, Concussion, etc.)
