Join an amazing team of educators at the B'nai Jehudah Child Development Center, a partnership between The Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City and The Temple, Congregation B'nai Jehudah. The B'nai Jehudah CDC is a warm, welcoming and inclusive community that offers childcare classrooms for children ages 6 weeks through 2 years. The Lead Teacher creates an environment that promotes learning through the Creative Curriculum. Lead Teachers use their knowledge, skills and abilities to engage little learners through play in a loving, caring environment. Lead Teachers have the independence to create lesson plans that value their knowledge of child development and growth.

- $17-21/hr
- Create a classroom environment that promotes learning through open-ended activities, materials, and an intriguing environment.
- Develop weekly plans, and implement an age appropriate curriculum to nurture and stimulate all domains of the children's development.
- Maintain KDHE requirements in classrooms at all times.
- Cultivate and maintain a positive relationship with parents through formal and informal communication on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.
- Foster and develop relationships with other teaching team members, including co-teachers.
- Have a knowledge and understanding of the Creative Curriculum and the components required for a center-based classroom.
- Perform on-going evaluation based on the Teaching Strategies Gold Assessment tool.
- Plan periodic parent teacher conference to discuss each child's development progress, needs, and goals.
- Gear the program towards the needs of individual children taking into account interests, challenges, talents, and individual learning styles.
- Assist with the supervision of Teaching Assistants or volunteers in the classroom.
- Maintain positive communication with Administrative Team members.
- Attend training and professional development opportunities as assigned.
- Experience working with children (including infants) in a licensed environment
- History of consistent attendance and punctuality
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent - degree (CDA/AA/BA/BS/MA) in Early Childhood Education or a related subject area is preferred
- Lead qualified through KDHE
- Job requires frequent (2-5 hours per shift) standing, walking, carrying and repetitive motions and occasional (up to 2 hours per shift) sitting, lifting up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling, climbing and stooping/crouching.
