Description:The Kitchen Assistant prepares nutritious snacks and lunches for preschool students.Essential FunctionsCounting, sorting and portioning snacks and lunch items for preschool students (no cooking required)Delivering food to preschool classroomsGeneral kitchen cleaning, dishwashing and organizationProcess and organize weekly food deliveriesScheduleThis part time position is typically scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Benefits$16/hr Daytime hours – no evenings or weekendsDiscounted membership to The J (includes fitness center and pools, etc.)On-the-job training providedRequirements:Ability to follow directionsAble to count, sort and organize inventoryWilling to learn to use basic kitchen equipmentWilling to learn basic food preparation skillsReliable transportation Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for at least duration of shiftAbility to lift and carry up to 20 pounds for short distances and up to 35 pounds on occasionDexterity to type, serve, cut, lift, write and use hands and legs to complete the tasks of the positionAbout The JThe J is committed to creating a diverse environment.
