What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Specialist - Part Time position at Jewett City Savings Bank?

Customer Service Specialists:
- Serve as the first level of customer contact upon entering the branch. Greet customers as they enter the lobby, engage the customer in conversation and service all of the customer’s needs within scope of authority. Provide first line problem resolution.
- Open all types of deposit accounts and assist customers with any questions or problems on existing accounts. Perform file maintenance of customer account information. Process applications for ATM/debit cards, and telephone and online banking. Process customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, night drop transactions, telephone transfers, cash items and cash advances. Cash checks, sell bank checks and redeem savings bonds. Process IRA deposits, distributions and roll-overs. Serve as safe deposit attendant. Provide customer access to boxes and process new and closed rental agreements. Assist with check deposits and end-of-day processes.
- Maintain updated knowledge of Bank's products and services. Identify and actively follow up on customer sales opportunities. Cross sell Bank products and services and refer customer to our commercial lenders and investment representative.
- Ensure the accuracy of activities. Balance transactions and cash at the end of the day. Assist with check deposits and end-of-day processes.
Job Requirements:
No previous banking experience required. Our paid training program will teach you all the basics.
We require a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least one year of customer contact and cash-handling experience. Other required skills include exceptional customer service, attention to detail, a positive attitude, and strong communication, organizational and computer skills.
Schedule:
- Part Time; 20 hours/week
- Regular schedule:
- Monday 8:45am - 4:15pm (30 min lunch)
- Thursday 10:00am - 4:30pm
- Friday 10:00am - 4:30pm
- During the five week training program, you will be expected to work approximately 30 hours per week Monday through Friday and may be scheduled to work as early as 7:45am, and work as late as 5:15pm. You may be assigned to work in any of our branch locations
