Jewelry Television - Assistant Broadcast Production Stage Manager

As an Assistant Stage Manager in the Jewelry Television Production Department, you will be an integral part of a live, 24/7 studio environment.  This role requires a strong multi-tasker with excellent organizational and communication skills, dependability, and the ability to adapt quickly to the fast-paced, ever-changing needs of a live show. The Assistant Stage Manager will provide real-time leadership and support for organizing, monitoring and prioritizing for the Live Show Production Assistant Team, weekly schedules, coverage for call-offs, and managing man-hours.  This includes responsibilities for overseeing personnel, coaching, and addressing performance or behavioral issues as necessary. Weekend, nights and holiday availability is required. This position is located in Knoxville, Tennessee and requires you to be physically onsite as it relates to the duties of the role.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Stage Manager and team in overseeing Production Assistant team 
     
  • Organize training and educational manuals for the Production Assistant team
     
  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new hires
     
  • Ensure compliance with safety and professional standards within the Studio Facility
     
  • Organize, monitor, and prioritize tasks to meet live show needs
     
  • Evaluate all areas of Production Assistant operation to ensure optimum efficiency
     
  • Maintain communication between employees and Broadcast Leadership, Sales Team, Sample Management and Planning to ensure expectations, procedures and policies are well-understood
     
  • Manage workflow, team schedules, and man-hours across all shifts
     
  • Guide PAs on tasks and priorities, addressing issues promptly
     
  • Handle call-offs for the PA team 
     
  • Maintain high standards of organization, communication, and operational efficiency

     

  • Supervise operations within the Studio facility to achieve higher output by the PA team

 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent organization, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Relevant training and certification in video production or equivalent role (other relevant work history considered)
  • Experience in managing people, coaching, and/or supervisory responsibilities
  • Ability to create and adhere to production processes
  • Ability to write reports legibly and accurately
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a production-related field is a plus but not required
