Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and dental materials, ensuring aseptic techniques are strictly followed.
- Assist dentist during various procedures such as restorations, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing efficient four-handed dentistry support.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging equipment like 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) utilizing Eaglesoft to ensure accurate medical documentation and coding.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to foster understanding and compliance.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and acting as a dental receptionist to enhance patient experience.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Proficiency in dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and vital signs measurement.
- Familiarity with EMR system Eaglesoft for managing medical records and documentation.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology across general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral structures and medical terminology for accurate communication.
- Ability to perform medical imaging procedures with attention to detail using advanced equipment like 3D scanners.
- Excellent communication skills suitable for working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics; previous experience as a dental receptionist is a plus.
