What You’ll Do
- Under the guidance of audit team members, assist with audits and reviews of financial and operational processes.
- Help document business processes to support evaluation of the design and effectiveness of controls.
- Assist in gathering and organizing evidence to support audit testing and conclusions.
- Participate in team discussions on control strengths and weaknesses, contributing observations and ideas for improvement.
- Support the team in tracking the status of audit observations and remediation plans.
- Assist with preparing summaries, schedules, or working papers under the review of audit staff.
- Communicate with team members to gather information and ask clarifying questions as needed.
- Complete a summer project or presentation, as assigned, to be shared with the JM Executive Management team and other summer interns at the end of the internship.
Minimum Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management or a related field.
- Coursework or demonstrated interest in accounting, finance, business, or risk management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative in a professional office environment.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Junior standing, sophomores will be considered.
- Interest in pursuing a professional certification (CPA, CIA, CISA, CMA, or similar) after graduation.
- Prior coursework, project, or leadership experience involving data analysis or business processes.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and sound judgment.
