Company and Role Description
Jetstream Oil & Gas is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to support the firm’s growing minerals, royalties, and non-operated working interest acquisition platform. Jetstream has been acquiring minerals and non-operated working interests for more than 10 years, and in 2026 raised its first syndicated private fund focused on acquiring minerals and royalties in the Permian Basin.
This role will be responsible for evaluating acquisition opportunities, supporting investment decisions, and helping build a scalable, efficient engineering function. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to communicate conclusions clearly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate mineral and royalty acquisition opportunities
- Perform reservoir and production analysis to support underwriting and investment decisions
- Build and maintain type curves, decline curve analyses, and other engineering assumptions used in valuations
- Present deal evaluations and recommendations in a clear, concise manner
- Work closely with management and the acquisitions team to screen opportunities quickly and effectively
- Improve and streamline engineering workflows, tools, and evaluation processes
- Utilize and implement technology to enhance underwriting capabilities, improve data quality, and drive efficiency across the deal evaluation process
- Support portfolio management through ongoing asset review, performance tracking, and reserve-related analysis
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, with preference for reservoir engineering experience
- Strong technical background in upstream oil and gas asset evaluation
- Experience evaluating minerals, royalties, or non-operated working interest opportunities is a plus, but not required
- Demonstrated ability to present engineering analysis and clearly explain valuation assumptions, including how type curves were developed
- Proficiency in ARIES or ComboCurve
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
- Self-starter with a process improvement mindset and desire to build efficiency across the deal evaluation process
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a small, entrepreneurial team environment
