What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Manager - Marina District position at JETSET Pilates?
JETSET Pilates is a modern, music-driven reformer Pilates concept delivering high-energy, results-driven
classes in a curated luxury studio environment. With strong growth nationwide — 200 locations sold
across the US and internationally — JETSET is built on the belief that 50 minutes on the reformer can be
transformative. We’re now bringing that experience to San Francisco’s Marina District, and we’re looking
for an exceptional leader to build it with us.
The Studio General Manager is the founding leader of JETSET Marina District in San Francisco. You will
own the studio from the ground up — building foundational membership during pre-sales, establishing the
community relationships that will define us in the neighborhood, recruiting and developing a best-in-class
team, and launching the studio with momentum.
This is not a traditional management role. It requires a rare combination of sales drive, community
instinct, operational discipline, and genuine passion for the JETSET brand. The right person thrives in a
startup environment, takes full ownership of results, and leads by example every single day.

opening day - Capture, nurture, and close incoming leads with urgency and a consultative approach
- Drive community outreach through local partnerships, on-the-mat pop-ups, and brand events

- Track and analyze KPIs including sales conversion, retention, and revenue performance
- Recruit, hire, and onboard instructors and studio team members who embody the JETSET
standard - Build a high-accountability, high-energy team culture rooted in service excellence
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management
- Lead by example in work ethic, urgency, professionalism, and ownership mentality
Studio Operations
- Oversee all daily studio operations including scheduling, payroll, reporting, and inventory
- Maintain JETSET brand standards and studio presentation at all times
- Manage expenses and operate within budget with full financial accountability
- Ensure every client interaction reflects JETSET’s commitment to premium service
- Ensure all client inquiries, issues, and concerns receive a timely and positive response
Community & Brand Presence
- Develop meaningful partnerships with local wellness, retail, and lifestyle organizations
- Represent JETSET at community events and build genuine relationships in the Marina
neighborhood - Execute local marketing initiatives to drive client acquisition and brand awareness
- Cultivate relationships with influencers, corporate partners, and key community figures
Teaching & Studio Support
- Complete the full JETSET instructor training program
- Teach approximately 4–6 classes per week, or as operationally needed
- Be available to step in and cover classes when required
- Maintain a deep understanding of JETSET programming and instructor performance standards
- 2 years of management experience in boutique fitness, hospitality, or a service-based
business - Proven track record in membership sales or revenue-driven roles
- Experience with pre-sale or new studio openings strongly preferred
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours during the pre-opening phase
- CPR/AED certification required (or willingness to obtain prior to opening)
- A natural sales leader who can build relationships and close with confidence
- A community builder who is comfortable being the face of a brand in the neighborhood
- Operationally sharp — organized, systems-driven, and detail-oriented
- A self-starter who thrives in a high-ownership, startup-style environment
- Competitive, performance-driven, and motivated by achieving and exceeding goals
- High energy, hands-on, and genuinely passionate about the boutique fitness space
- Growth-oriented, with interest in expanding your leadership as JETSET grows in San Francisco
- Bonus: Performance-based incentive structure tied to revenue and membership growth
- Hours: 45–55 hours per week (extended during pre-sale and launch phase)
- Growth: Potential for expanded leadership responsibility as additional SF locations open
