Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Loader / Unloader to join our warehouse team. This role involves efficiently handling materials, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring the safe and accurate movement of goods within our distribution center. Responsibilities
- Load and unload shipments using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, or crane systems
- Operate warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for order picking and inventory tracking
- Assist with order picking, packing, and shipping & receiving processes
- Safely handle materials, ensuring proper lifting techniques and adherence to OSHA regulations
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals and deadlines
- Follow all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling
Experience
- Prior warehouse distribution or shipping & receiving experience preferred
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, or cranes is highly desirable
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picker operations is a plus
- Background in construction or materials handling roles will be considered an asset
- Familiarity with OSHA standards related to warehouse safety and heavy equipment operation
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Previous supervisory experience in a warehouse setting is advantageous but not required
