Position Summary:
The JBU Regional Field Educator supports JetBlue University (JBU) with local training initiatives for Airport and Ground Operations and provides feedback regarding all training offered by JBU College of Airports. The Field Educator oversees and is responsible for the delivery of high-quality training aligned with JetBlue’s business needs and objectives. This position requires an individual with a passion for teaching and providing learning opportunities to Airports Crewmembers and Business Partners. The Field Educator will be responsible for working in the operation and understanding the functions of the Crewmembers and Business Partners as this position requires individuals to be credible sources of reference in all areas relating to Airports and JetBlue Airways. The position will provide support to JBU and Airports based on a regional model across BOS, FLL, JFK, LAX, MCO, Northeast, South Atlantic and International.
The Field Educator supports JBU AO and GO Liaisons by providing timely coaching and mentoring, ultimately contributing to the successful development of a growing team environment. The Field Educator collaborates and partners closely with JetBlue University and Airports leadership to ensure effective training to ensure success of our Customer interactions and uphold safety standards. The Field Educator also collaborates effectively amongst a team of other Field Educators, working together to solve training and coaching needs across Airport’s network of cities (domestic and international) throughout JetBlue.
The Field Educator reports directly into JetBlue University, College of Airports. This position is critical to the integrity of the operation and the safe operation of the airline. Each Field Educator must understand the importance of their role and the integrity they bring to running a safe Airports environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Oversees all training completion records in the training database and analyzes training results, performance improvement and operational metrics
- Conducts recordkeeping audits and reviews reports to ensure Airports Crewmembers and Business Partners have accurate and compliant training records
- Supports the development of the training program and executes training sessions; helps lead, coach, develop and build liaisons to achieve company goals
- Builds training presentations/courses and conducts training as required
- Provides oversight, coordination and coaching for the JBU Liaison Program
- Provides organizational support, training, coaching, and strategy support as needed
- Responsible for the oversight and management of all field training and ensures that all training is delivered according to high standards
- Facilitate “train the trainer” sessions to ensure that site teams are adequately prepared to effectively deliver programs
- Oversees goal setting and evaluations for Liaisons
- Ensures the demonstration of Promises outlined in JetBlue’s hospitality guidelines to the Airport experience
- Works closely with JBU, Safety, Airports Standards and Programs, and local BlueCity Leadership in domestic and international markets
- Mentors JBU Liaisons, coordinates BlueCity Liaison Team meetings and delegates responsibilities
- Supports station openings and Business Partner training
- Develops and maintains relationships with operational partners and Leadership in order to proactively improve initiatives and metrics
- Assists JBU as a TDY Instructor, when and where needed
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Three (3) years JetBlue Airport or Ground Operations experience
- One (1) year of current and active Airport or Ground Operations JBU Liaison Experience
- Possesses and maintains either an active Airport Operations JBU Liaison qualification or an active Ground Operations JBU Liaison qualification in MINT
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active JetBlue Airport or Ground Operations Cross Trained qualification in MINT
- Possesses and maintains either an active Jetbridge or pushback qualification while being able to deliver all levels of training on initial and recurrent Jetbridge or pushback operations to other Crewmembers (in applicable BlueCities)
- Able to work non-scheduled hours, including holidays and weekends, and flexibility to participate in Liaison trainings, OJT, conference calls, Train-the-Trainer sessions, meetings and/or temporary assignments
- Travel is required up to 70%
- In possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out the United States
- Proficiency in Computer Skills i.e. E-Mail, Word, Excel, SharePoint, MS Teams and PowerPoint
- Proficiency working with operational tools i.e. BlueEye and Flight Load Monitor
- Ability to follow Safety guidelines and directions
- Ability to perform under pressure and fixed time constraints
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
- Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets JetBlue Airways insurance standards
- Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
- Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Have both an active JetBlue Airport and Ground Operations qualification in MINT
- Have both an active Jetbridge and Pushback qualification in MINT
- Ability to speak in front of groups and facilitate group discussions comfortably
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, bilingual skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Work Environment:
- Airport and Ramp environment
- Subject to weather and elevated noise levels within Airport
- Ability to stand for an extended period of time
- Available to travel for extended periods of time to deliver training at offsite locations
- Available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Irregular shift work, training center is operated twenty four (24) hours per day and seven (7) days per week
- Occasional temporary work assignments in bases or other locations
