What are the responsibilities and job description for the Avionics Technicians position at Jet Air?
Location:
Galesburg, IL
Jet Air, Inc. is expanding our Avionics Services and we are looking for both experienced and entry level
technicians to join our team!
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain avionics systems and components in various aircraft
- Perform upgrades and retrofits, including Garmin Flight Displays, GTN’s, and other platforms
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals accurately
- Conduct operational checks and ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company standards
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and installations
- Collaborate with a supportive team focused on quality, safety, and efficiency
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years’ experience in avionics installation, troubleshooting and familiarity with Garmin avionics
- FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) license, or military experience, but not required
- Basic tools needed
- Willing to train under apprenticeship to mechanical / tech savvy individuals
Job Type: Full-time
Expected Hours: 40 per week
Schedule: Monday – Friday
