Your Impact
The Chief Inspector serves as the shop-level quality assurance leader, executing compliance programs and leading daily inspection operations at the facility. Working closely with the location Director of Maintenance, this position ensures FAA regulatory adherence, drives quality standards, and oversees the inspection team's day-to-day activities.

- Days: Monday through Friday (In-Shop)
- Evening/weekend hours will be required for various incidents, events, initiatives
Where You Make Your Mark
As Chief Inspector, you'll lead the shop-level quality and inspection operations, executing company-wide quality programs at your facility. Here's what your role encompasses:
Shop-Level Quality Operations
- Execute quality assurance and quality control programs established by the Director of Inspection at the facility level
- Lead and manage the shop inspection team, directing daily tasks and maintaining quality standards
- Implement and maintain quality management systems as defined in company manuals and procedures
- Collaborate closely with the location Director of Maintenance on daily operations and quality initiatives
- Serve as final authority for returning aircraft to service after inspections and authorized processes at the shop
- Ensure all shop operations comply with FAA regulations and company standards
- Execute the Corrective Action Program at the facility, detecting nonconformances and implementing corrections
- Control Inspector/Production/Training Stamp program at the shop level and maintain facility rosters
- Ensure all shop personnel have proper training documentation and certification for assigned tasks
- Monitor and report on quality management system performance at the facility
- Direct inspectors in their daily inspection activities and work assignments
- Monitor performance and attendance of shop Quality Assurance and Quality Control personnel
- Determine and recommend individuals for Repairman's Certificate based on established criteria
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to inspection team members
- Foster a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement within the inspection team
- Execute random audit programs and participate in facility bi-annual self-audits
- Implement vendor audit requirements and maintain approved vendor relationships at the shop level
- Maintain accurate documentation for all inspection activities and quality processes
- Ensure proper completion of all required quality records and compliance documentation
- Report audit findings and quality metrics to the Director of Inspection
- Complete special projects and initiatives as needed, embracing opportunities to contribute to Jet Access's continued growth and success
What Will Make You Successful
Required Skills & Experience
- A&P Certification required
- Minimum of 5 years in Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control in a Part 145 repair station or similar aviation maintenance environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead and direct inspection teams in daily operations
- In-depth knowledge of FAA Part 43, Part 145 regulations, and repair station operations
- Strong understanding of quality management systems and corrective action processes
- Experience with aircraft inspection procedures, maintenance documentation, and airworthiness standards
- Proficiency with maintenance tracking software and quality management systems
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and ability to maintain facility documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for regulatory documentation and team direction
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with maintenance leadership and cross-functional teams
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in inspection and documentation
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and maintenance procedures
- Physical ability to perform inspections, including climbing, bending, and working in confined spaces
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check

- 10 years of aircraft mechanic experience across various aircraft types
- Previous experience as a Lead Inspector or in a shop-level quality leadership role
- Experience with both line and heavy maintenance programs
- Familiarity with multiple aircraft types (jets, turboprops, and/or piston aircraft)
- IA (Inspection Authorization) certificate
- Experience with vendor audits and supplier quality management
- Background in implementing or improving quality management systems
- Strong coaching and team development skills with hands-on inspection personnel
- Experience conducting internal audits and preparing for FAA audits
- Knowledge of SMS (Safety Management Systems) principles
- Training or experience in root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies
- Track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives in a shop environment
- Experience with paperless or digital maintenance tracking systems
- Ability to mentor and develop inspectors at various skill levels
- Strong conflict resolution and decision-making abilities in high-pressure situations
