What are the responsibilities and job description for the Client Success & Retention Advisor position at Jersey Senior Advisors?
Client Success & Retention Advisor
Ocean Township, NJ (flexible/hybrid available)
NJ Health Insurance License required
Who we are
Jersey Senior Advisors is a family-owned, female-run health insurance brokerage. We have been doing this for more than 12 years, we are licensed in over 30 states, and we help individuals of every age navigate their coverage. Medicare is our specialty and seniors are the majority of who we serve, but the heart of the work is the same regardless of who is on the other end--helping a real person make a decision that matters.
The vast majority of our clients come to us through word-of-mouth. That is not an accident. It is the result of a team that shows up for people, explains things clearly, and never makes a client feel rushed or confused. We are proud of that reputation and we protect it every day.
Every project here is collaborative. We do not believe in siloed work. The best answers tend to come from people looking at the same problem from different angles, and we have built a culture around that. When you join JSA, you are joining a team that is genuinely rooting for you.
The role
You are the steady, knowledgeable presence our existing clients rely on. While our principal advisors focus on complex cases and new client acquisition, you keep our current book of business feeling seen, supported, and taken care of. This is a client-facing role that requires both insurance expertise and genuine warmth.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for our existing book of business, handling inbound calls, emails, and follow-ups from current clients
- Conducting annual plan reviews and renewal conversations during Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 through December 7)
- Answering client questions about Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage, Part D, ACA coverage, and ancillary coverage
- Identifying clients who may benefit from plan changes and coordinating with the principal advisors
- Tracking client outreach, appointment scheduling, and follow-up using our CRM and project management tools
- Supporting client retention by proactively reaching out ahead of renewal periods and key deadlines
- Collaborating with our virtual team and in-office staff to ensure nothing slips through the cracks
- Using AI tools to work more efficiently across communications, client prep, and documentation
Who you are
People genuinely energize you. You are the kind of person who builds rapport without trying. Warmth and patience are not things you perform; they come naturally, and clients feel it immediately. You enjoy talking to people and you are curious about them.
You work collaboratively by instinct. You share early, ask questions, and bring things to the team before they are polished. Once direction is set, you carry it forward and make the day-to-day calls without needing to check back in on every one.
You pick things up fast and you apply what you learn. New tools, new processes, new information; you do not need to be walked through something twice. You see what needs to be done and you do it.
You are genuinely tech-savvy. Comfortable with multiple platforms and AI tools, and you look for ways to work smarter rather than waiting for someone to hand you a better system.
You are patient and empathetic. Our clients are navigating complex decisions about their health coverage, often for the first time. You meet them where they are, explain things clearly, and never make them feel like a burden.
You have an active New Jersey Health Insurance Producer License. AHIP certification is preferred but not required on day one. Advantage is a strong plus. Roughly two or more years in a client-facing insurance or healthcare role, with a track record of clients who trust you.
The setup
20 hours a week to start, with room to grow. More hours become available as you learn our clients, our systems, and our process. We are open to full-time for the right person. You set your schedule within our Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm window. During Annual Enrollment Period, expect hours to increase. That is the season that matters most to our clients and to us.
There is a path here. You will grow into the work, and the work will grow with you.
How to apply
Send your resume and a short note to colleen.jerseysenioradvisors@gmail.com We care about how you think and how you communicate. Your note matters as much as your resume.
Tell us about a client or customer situation that went sideways and what you did to turn it around. What happened and what did you say?
The application process is the start of a conversation, not a presentation. We look forward to hearing from you.
