We are looking for a General Manager who is ready to take ownership of the restaurant and lead a high-performing team. The General Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the store, including team leadership, customer service, food quality, cleanliness, labor management, inventory, sales, and profitability.

Our General Managers lead by example and hold themselves and their teams accountable to the highest standards. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, dependable, organized, and passionate about developing people while creating an exceptional experience for every customer.

Requirements

• Proven leadership experience in a restaurant, retail, or customer-service environment
• Strong understanding of and commitment to company policies, procedures, and operational standards
• Ability to lead, coach, motivate, and develop a team
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to hold team members accountable while maintaining a positive work environment
• Commitment to customer satisfaction and exceptional service
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work up to 55 hours per week when business needs require
• Ability to work a minimum of 45 hours per week
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be willing to complete required management training
• Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-employment checks

General Manager ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development

• Lead the restaurant team by example with a positive, energetic, and professional attitude
• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, and develop team members
• Develop and coach Assistant Managers, Shift Leaders, and future leaders
• Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable to company standards
• Build a strong team culture centered around teamwork, respect, and accountability
• Recognize and reward great performance while addressing performance issues promptly and professionally
• Create and maintain effective employee schedules based on business needs

Restaurant Operations

• Take full ownership of daily restaurant operations
• Ensure all Jersey Mike’s standards, systems, and procedures are followed consistently
• Maintain exceptional food quality, portion control, speed of service, and product presentation
• Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards are followed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained restaurant at all times
• Ensure proper opening, closing, cash-handling, and security procedures are followed
• Monitor equipment and facility conditions and communicate maintenance needs promptly

Customer Service

• Create an exceptional customer experience during every visit
• Greet customers and ensure orders are prepared accurately and efficiently
• Handle customer questions, concerns, and complaints professionally and calmly
• Ensure the team consistently provides friendly, fast, and welcoming service
• Maintain Jersey Mike’s standards for hospitality and customer satisfaction

Sales & Financial Performance

• Take ownership of the restaurant’s sales and profitability
• Monitor and manage labor costs to meet company goals
• Control food costs through proper portioning, inventory management, waste reduction, and ordering
• Review restaurant performance and identify opportunities for improvement
• Execute company promotions, marketing initiatives, and sales-building programs
• Work toward and achieve established sales, labor, food cost, and profitability goals

Inventory & Food Management

• Maintain accurate inventory levels and ordering practices
• Ensure proper receiving, storage, rotation, and preparation of food products
• Monitor waste and implement procedures to reduce unnecessary food costs
• Ensure all products meet Jersey Mike’s quality and freshness standards

Daily Team Responsibilities

• Greet customers, take orders, and serve food and beverages with a consistently positive and helpful attitude
• Operate the point-of-sale system and accurately handle cash and credit-card transactions
• Work alongside the team to prepare hot and cold subs according to customer specifications
• Properly operate kitchen equipment, including knives, grills, slicers, and other restaurant machinery
• Assist with cleaning, sanitizing, sweeping, mopping, restroom service, and other daily restaurant duties
• Step into any position necessary to support the team and maintain smooth restaurant operations

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $55,000 EBITDA Bonus per Month!
