Assistant Manager

We’re hiring an Assistant Manager to help lead our team at our brand new Jersey Mike’s location coming to Portage, IN! We’re looking for someone with fast food or quick-service experience who’s ready to take the next step in their career. The ideal candidate is dependable, positive, and knows how to motivate a team. We take our culture very seriously, and are looking for a fun and adaptive person who will support the team both operationally and mentally!

*THIS JOB REQUIRES 4 WEEKS OF TRAINING AT A TRAINING LOCATION IN SOUTH ELGIN, IL. TRAVEL / HOTEL EXPENSES WILL BE TOTALLY COVERED.

As Assistant Manager, you’ll work closely with the General Manager to keep the restaurant running smoothly. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, loves working with people, and is looking for a long-term position with room to grow.

Responsibilities:

• Support the General Manager in daily operations
• Help lead and train team members to provide top-notch service
• Jump in wherever needed — from making subs to handling customer concerns
• Maintain high standards for food quality, cleanliness, and store appearance
• Assist with inventory, ordering, and scheduling
• Step up to lead shifts and manage the team when the GM is away

Qualifications:

• Fast food or QSR experience (previous leadership experience is a plus)
• Friendly, reliable, and team-oriented
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Someone who’s looking to grow with us and take on more responsibility over time

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
