Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site role for a Lifeguard at Jersey Aquatic Center, located in New Providence, NJ. The Lifeguard will oversee and ensure the safety of all patrons by monitoring swimming activities and responding quickly to emergencies. Responsibilities include enforcing safety protocols, supervising pool areas, performing water rescues, administering first aid as necessary, and maintaining cleanliness and order around the pool area. The Lifeguard will also assist with other aquatic center duties as requested.
Qualifications
- Strong swimming skills, proficiency in water safety, and experience with water rescue techniques
- Certification in Lifeguarding, CPR, AED, and First Aid (current or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Ability to remain calm and efficiently manage emergency situations
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patrons and enforce safety rules
- Physical fitness and stamina to meet the demands of active, on-site lifeguard responsibilities
- Attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach to safety monitoring
- Prior experience as a lifeguard is an advantage
