Job Summary:
Perform the meat cutting functions
Essential Job Functions:
- Receive any meat delivery, code, rotate, and put in appropriate storage area
- Weigh, cut and process all meat items in accordance with specified procedures outlined by standard practice
- Observe and maintain company sanitation and food safety standards
- Keep work area free from debris and safety hazards
- Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils
- All other duties that may be assigned
Work Environment:
- Must be willing to work any shift when necessary, including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to work in close quarters or small rooms and is occasionally exposed to hot, cold, wet and/or humid condition
Job Requirements:.
- Must possess organization skills to plan time effectively
- Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team
- Must be able to handle a fast-paced and somewhat stressful environment to meet deadlines
- Must be able to work without direct supervision
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must have valid Health Card or ability to obtain same
- Previous experience required; 1 to 3 years of hands-on Butcher experience
- Must have accurate knife skills and the ability to follow recipes
- Must be at least 21 years of age
Physical Requirements:
- Must have manual dexterity in hands and fingers
- Must possess the physical ability to access all areas of the kitchen
- Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, and kneeling
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighting up to 50 lbs without restriction
- Must be able to work in close quarters or small rooms
- Must be able to occasionally be exposed to hot, cold, wet and/or humid conditions
