What are the responsibilities and job description for the "A Level" Automotive Technician position at Jerry's Chevrolet GMC?
At Jerry's Chevrolet GMC of Vermillion, we're looking for an experienced Level A Service Technician who takes pride in doing the job right the first time. If you're someone who enjoys diagnosing complex issues, staying current with today's vehicle technology, and working alongside a team that respects your knowledge and experience, we'd like to meet you.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical concerns on a wide variety of vehicles.
- Perform advanced engine, transmission, suspension, steering, brake and electrical repairs.
- Complete factory maintenance and warranty work according to manufacturer standards.
- Use diagnostic equipment and service information to accurately identify vehicle concerns.
- Test drive vehicles before and after repairs to verify proper operation.
- Clearly document repair findings and recommendations.
- Work closely with Service Advisors to keep customers informed throughout the repair process.
- Mentor and assist less experienced technicians when needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
What We're Looking For
- Several years of professional automotive repair experience.
- Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- ASE Certifications are preferred but not required.
- GM experience is a plus, but we're willing to consider experienced technicians from other manufacturers.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical duties required in a service shop.
