What are the responsibilities and job description for the Truck Driver / Agricultural Equipment Operator position at Jerry Groth?
We need seasonal employees to assist with our corn and soybean crop production season from March until December. Employees will assist with all duties related to raising these crops, including loading and unloading crops or materials manually or using conveyors, forklifts, transfer augers, or hand trucks; driving farm trucks and tractor-trailer combinations, including vehicles over 3 tons and electric, hybrid-electric, or alternative fuel-powered trucks, to transport crops, livestock, supplies, or tools; inspecting, loading, and securing cargo using ropes, chains, binders, covers, pads, or containers; coupling or uncoupling trailers, operating trailer landing gear, and installing or removing special equipment such as tire chains, grader blades, plow blades, or sanders; checking vehicles to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in proper working order and performing basic maintenance or emergency roadside repairs as needed; completing routine maintenance and repairs on farm equipment; and mixing pesticides and loading sprayers or spray drones. Employees must follow all safety procedures, operate equipment responsibly, and assist with any tasks necessary to support crop production throughout the season. The employer, at its sole discretion, grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience.
