What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Representative position at JERNIGAN?
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answers telephone calls and relays messages to the appropriate person within Jernigan Oil Company, Inc.
- Researches propane, fuel oil, and Jernigan Oil Company, Inc. Fleet Card accounts.
- Communicates with customers in order to satisfy any orders or concerns they may have.
- Takes fuel oil and propane orders from customers, both from the tank wagons and transport trucks
- Reconciles office sales daily.
- Assists propane customers with their yearly pre-buy propane contracts during the months leading to the heating season.
- Assists in completing monthly billing of all statements that are sent to customers.
- Must process information and paperwork in the timeframes established by Jernigan Oil Company, Inc.
- Maintains quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to work accurately and quickly.
- Able to work during normal business hours Monday- Friday.
- Organized and able to follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Must pay attention to detail.
- Accounting/ Mathematics Skills
- Knowledge about petroleum products is preferrable.
- Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.

- Must have the ability to excel in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
- Must maintain composure and a positive attitude while managing difficult situations.
- Must be able to multi-task and change direction with little to no notice.
Physical Requirements:
- Intermittent sitting, standing, or bending.

Full-time employees must work at least thirty-two (32) hours, but should average approximately forty (40) hours per week. All hours worked in excess of forty hours per week will be paid overtime at one and one-half times the straight hourly rate.
