Jericho Road Community Health Center is actively seeking a Dental Assistant. This position is full-time, within the Dental Department, at our 1021 Broadway location.

Responsibilities:
- Assisting a practicing dentist at their chair during examination and treatment of patients, including operative and surgical cases
- Sterilize dental instruments and tools
- Provide chair-side assistance during dental procedures
- Regularly and consistently meet quality and patient care standards established by management
- Provided fantastic customer service while performing exceptional patient care.
- Oversee sterilization of dental instruments and tools
- Maintain inventory, and ordering supplies needed to provide patient care
- Demonstrate proficiency in taking patients dental health histories and vital signs, as well as providing premium patient care
- Educate and provided patient care in a fast-paced dental office
- Communicate with the Dental Director regarding proposed changes, developments, and opportunities affecting the dental program
- Relied upon to organize, sanitize, and maintain patient care areas.
- Assist the Doctor in patient care, and laboratory duties.
- Documenting, establishing, and maintaining patients' history in Dentrix system
- Monthly auditing of inventory supply to replenish and order as needed
- Verify appointments and direct patients to proper clinical or administrative area
- Schedule appointments for patients in person or on the telephone
- Answer, screen, and direct incoming calls
- Prepare letters, information packets, other correspondences as needed
- Assisting the patient recruitment and growth of clinic
- Ensure compliance with industry rules and regulations
- Attend trainings and educational opportunities to remain current in best dental assistant practices
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA guidelines and take corrective action with the support of management if necessary
- Follow OSHA regulations and safety requirements
- Attend monthly all staff meetings and mandatory organizational training
Qualifications:
- High School graduate or GED equivalent
- Graduation from an accredited Dental Assistant Program preferred
- Prefer at least one year experience in a dental office which included assisting a dentist in patient treatment
- Previous experience with the Dentrix EDR system preferred
- Must be caring and compassionate and willing to work with a diverse patient population, treating patients equally regardless of medical condition, income level, race, religion, etc.
Rate: $19.00-$21.00 an hour. Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other position related components.
