What are the responsibilities and job description for the LTS Special Educator position at JERICHO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL?
Jericho Elementary School is seeking an energetic special educator with a love for working with elementary students to work as a Long Term Substitute at Jericho Elementary School during the Fall of 2026. The successful candidate should have a strong background in elementary special education strategies and enjoy working as part of a creative hard-working team. Strengths must include the ability to build and foster positive rapport with students and families, effective communication, curriculum modification, as well as comfort with special education rules and regulations. The ideal candidate must have a strong knowledge of best practices when providing individualized and group instruction in literacy and math, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL).
Candidates should also have the following.
-Active Vermont Special Educator License
-Experience in behavioral management techniques/interventions
-Strong collaboration skills
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
-At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
