We are looking for a creative & innovative grill cook that loves working with a small team of like-minded sandwich makers!
This position is part time with the opportunity to grow, we are looking for someone who doesn't mind working afternoon/early evening hours, has experience creating simple but delicious meals, and knows their way around a commercial kitchen.
We are a small, but mighty crew - the job consists of working with one other grill member and a dedicated deli crew. Your job is fluid, you'll be working the grill but when slower months are here - helping create prepared meals, making deli sandwiches and taking orders.
Currently we're hiring for part time - Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Hours range from 10-3pm, and 3-8pm. This is a year round position!
Responsibilities
Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of ovens, and grills.
Check freshness of food and ingredients by ensuring quality food is being prepared, keeping track of old and new items.
Working with others, and delegating tasks to the team. Managing the second grill support employee, who will work with you to create meals. Supporting the deli staff as needed.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of and ability to prepare, cook, and serve food in a fast-paced setting
Experience
- Proven experience as a cook.
- Knowledge of food handling, meal preparation, and dietary requirements
- Familiarity with grill cooking techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Pay commiserates with experience, base starts between $16-18 per hour and we tip share (on average $19-24 with base and tips).
