Aftermarket Program Manager

Jered
Portsmouth, VA Full Time
POSTED ON 7/21/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 8/19/2026
Jered, a PAR Systems Company, is seeking a highly organized and execution-focused Aftermarket Program Manager to lead the successful fulfillment of critical aftermarket parts orders supporting the U.S. Navy, allied navies, and commercial maritime customers.

This role is responsible for managing a high volume of simultaneous parts orders, ranging from routine replenishment items to urgent fleet readiness requirements. The successful candidate will coordinate hundreds of active part shipments at any given time, ensuring customer priorities are clearly understood, execution plans are established, and cross-functional teams remain aligned to meet delivery commitments.

The Aftermarket Program Manager serves as the central point of coordination between customers, sales, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, and shipping teams. Success in this position requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, proactive communication, and the ability to rapidly resolve obstacles that could impact delivery schedules.

Unlike traditional program management roles that focus on a limited number of large projects, this position requires the ability to successfully manage a large portfolio of concurrent aftermarket orders while maintaining a relentless focus on execution, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction.

With over 60 years of experience supporting every combatant ship class in the U.S. Navy, Jered provides mission-critical marine equipment including anchor windlasses, steering systems, winches, elevators, closures, and bridging systems. The Aftermarket Program Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the fleet receives the parts and support necessary to maintain operational readiness.

Success Criteria

Success in this role means ensuring the seamless execution of a high-volume aftermarket order portfolio by coordinating activities across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, shipping, contracts, finance, and sales. The successful candidate will proactively manage priorities, resolve execution challenges, and maintain clear communication with both customers and internal stakeholders to consistently deliver on schedule, meet contractual commitments, and support fleet readiness.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong operational leadership by driving accountability, monitoring key performance metrics, mitigating risks, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives that reduce lead times, improve delivery performance, and enhance customer satisfaction. Success will also be measured by the ability to balance competing priorities, maintain compliance with government contracting requirements, and foster a culture of responsiveness, collaboration, and operational excellence throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of program management, operations management, supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, or related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex programs with cross-functional teams.

  • Proficiency with program planning tools and project management systems.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and production planning processes.
  • Understanding of FAR/DFAR regulations and government contracting practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, critical thinking and negotiation skills.
