What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacist position at Jepson Drug Store?
Part-Time/Full-Time Staff Pharmacist — Independent Community Pharmacy
Jepson Drug Compounding | Siloam Springs, AR
$60–$68 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Why did you go into pharmacy?
If you became a pharmacist because you wanted to care for people, build relationships, and make a positive difference in other people's lives—but your current job environment leaves you exhausted, constantly behind, and emotionally drained—you may be the pharmacist we're looking for.
Jepson Drug Compounding is a family-owned and pharmacist-operated independent pharmacy in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. We believe that relationships, teamwork, and continuity of care matter. We work hard to staff our pharmacy so our pharmacists have the time, resources, and support they need to make a positive impact on the people around them.
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys people and wants to build lasting relationships with their patients. Our patients are like family to us—they aren't just prescription numbers. We strive to use our talents, time, and resources to provide personalized care to every patient, and we take pride in being a trusted resource for our community.
We are looking for an experienced, caring pharmacist to join our team on a part-time basis (approximately 18–27 hours per week). We are also open to considering a full-time position for the right candidate.
Why you might enjoy working here
One of the biggest advantages of working at Jepson Drug is that you are supported by a strong pharmacy team.
On most days, you will have:
- 3 experienced and competent technicians
- A clerk/driver
- Additional pharmacist coverage on heavier workflow days
While our pharmacy can be busy at times, our workflow is well-managed in a MedSync-heavy environment, and our staff is supportive, experienced, and well-trained.
We're especially interested in someone who can learn our workflow, become comfortable with our team, and eventually feel confident running the pharmacy when the owner is away.
What you'll do
- Verify prescription data and clinical appropriateness
- Counsel patients to promote medication safety and positive outcomes
- Provide immunizations and other clinical services
- Get to know patients and build long-term relationships
- Work collaboratively with technicians and clerks
- Oversee and verify non-sterile compounding prescriptions
- Help maintain a positive, professional, and patient-focused pharmacy environment
Compounding experience is a plus—but not required
We have a small non-sterile compounding lab. We primarily make hormone creams, but we also prepare a variety of non-sterile dosage forms, including capsules, solutions, and suppositories.
If you already have compounding experience, that's great! If you don't, we are happy to train the right pharmacist.
We care much more about finding the right person than finding someone who already knows everything.
What we can offer
- $60–$68/hour, depending on experience and qualifications
- Part-time schedule, approximately 16–30 hours/week
- Full-time considered for the right candidate
- Flexible scheduling
- Pharmacy hours of 9 AM–6 PM Monday–Friday and 9 AM–1 PM Saturday
- Closed every Sunday
- Support from a hands-on pharmacist who owns and manages the store
- Strong technician support
- PioneerRx Software
- Friendly, experienced staff
- Opportunity to build genuine relationships with patients
- Opportunity to learn and participate in non-sterile compounding
- A pharmacy where your work is appreciated, your contribution matters, and your feedback is welcomed
The kind of pharmacist we're looking for
- Someone who wants to be more than the person standing behind the verification screen.
- Someone who knows their patients, cares about their coworkers, takes pride in their work, and wants to be part of a pharmacy where relationships and patient care actually matter.
- Someone who wants to be part of a pharmacy and a community.
If that sounds like the kind of pharmacy you'd enjoy working in, we'd love to hear from you!
