Military Trip Planning Manager
This leadership role oversees the USAF-Military Trip Planning team at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. Military/ International Trip Planning Services is a growth oriented and globally diverse service team. Connected by our passion for aviation we currently support more than 30,000 flights and or missions annually. The team works closely with customers from Business, Commercial and Government/Military markets providing a suite of services that enable safe and efficient flight operations globally. Directly lead and managed individual team members as we work to enable successful results for our customers. This position is an onsite position located at Joint Base Andrews, MD.
Key Responsibilities:
Manages, develops and motivates employees through a positive Seek, Speak, and Listen culture.
Ensures key performance and service level commitments are met within target, including: customer satisfaction, quality, efficiency and cost management.
Manages and integrates employee activities.
Leading a positive safety culture with space for continual learning for all team members and contractors.
Leads processes to oversee activities related to the actual operation of aircraft or in direct support of flight operations.
Monitors mission planning services tasks and ensures that tasks are updated accurately.
Develops and executes some project and process plans, and implements policies and procedures as set forth in operational targets.
Attracts and retains global talent within International Trip Planning/Dispatch, provides technical management of contractors and leads oversees process improvements.
Develops and maintains relationships with customers, stakeholders, software & data portfolio leaders, partners and direct reports.
These responsibilities directly support the United States Air Force 1st Airlift Squadron, 89th Operations Group, 89th Airlift Wing, and encompass day‑to‑day coordination of aircraft and crew logistics, including Presidential Support flights.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
- This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
- FAA Dispatcher Certificate or the ability to obtain FAA Dispatcher Certificate within 1 year of hire
- 3 years of experience in mission planning
- 3 years of experience in a customer service role
- 2 years of leadership experience
- Fluent in verbal and written communications skills in English
- Ability to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekends, as this Trip Planning team will be maintaining 24/7/365 coverage
- This position is an onsite position located at Joint Base Andrews, MD.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Security Clearance
- 6 years of experience in mission planning
- 6 years of experience in a customer service role
- 4 years of leadership experience

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well market and business considerations: Summary Pay Range: $104,000.00-$134,000.00
