CAD Designer

Job Overview:

Our company is seeking an experienced CAD Designer/ Drafter with a background in the

aluminum fabrication industry including railings, balconies, canopies, handrails and

miscellaneous metals.

The role includes translating field measurements, building codes, and client specifications into

accurate drawings used for product submittals and formal documents.

You will collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, project managers, estimators,

and manufacturing teams to create accurate, detailed drawings for use in product submittals

and production.

Key Responsibilities:

 Use architectural drawings, structural drawings, field measurements and technical

documents to produce high-quality, accurate CAD drawings of various aluminum

architectural systems for submittals, fabrication, and installation, including layouts, cut

lists, hardware lists, and attachment details.

 Work closely with architects, engineers, project managers, production managers, and

site supervisors during design and planning phases. Assist the estimating team by

contributing design expertise during proposal development.

 Ensure drawings and designs adhere to IBC, ADA, OSHA, AA ADM, AWS codes and

standards.

Qualifications:

 5–10 years of professional experience in aluminum railing fabrication or related

architectural metalwork.

 Proficient in AutoCAD and Autodesk software; CAM experience a plus.

 Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.

 Knowledge of commercial construction, welding, and fabrication.

 Understanding of fabrication equipment and machine operations.

 Familiarity with raw materials (aluminum, steel, wood, concrete).

 Strong communication, time management and teamwork abilities

 Proven experience with shop drawings and construction documentation
